Hey everyone! I know it’s been years, and there’s is a lot to catch up on. But this is not the time. My newest nephew nearly died a month ago, and my sister is now faced with a $450,000 bill. Let’s keep in mind that is one bill and the largest thus far. If you can give even $5 that would help! No gift is too small! Also, if you could share the GoFund me on all your social places, we would be SO appreciated. Thanks so so so much!<br />

Over the past year I have known what deep depression is. Where you would rather be dead then have to live another day like this. Where you feel there is no hope for anything ever getting better. You think no one will ever understand what you are going through or how you feel. I realized I didn't need or want sympathy, I didn't need or want to be told what to do or how to get out of the pit. What I wanted and truly needed was a listening ear. But I didn't feel like I had a person that would really meet this need the way I needed it to be met. I became so depressed my husband told me I needed to seek help. Which at the time deeply hurt my heart. Like deeply. How could he say that to me?! I see now he felt totally lost. All he could see was his wife was having a major struggle every day. He didn't know how to help. He didn't know what to make of it. Our family was hurting because of this depression.<br />
<br />
I was releasing every emotion, every feeling out onto my kids and husband. I was damaging these precious relationships every single day. My words were unkind; my actions were too. I myself didn't know what to do. How to fix this. No, that's not totally true. I knew I needed to read my Bible, pray, and sing, but I just couldn't do it. I couldn't do it. My sorrows were too great. The hopelessness too big.<br />
<br />
Summer came, and with it, a lighter yoke. A new day. A new season. A fresh perspective. A revelation that I have a say in this. I have a say in my daily life. I realized that I cannot make people keep their word or do things I think they should do. I can't make everything go my way. I cannot keep the hurts and dissapointments from my heart no matter how big of a wall I build. I do, however, have a choice in how I respond these hurts and dissapointments. These hurts and disappointments are some of the things that I had been dwelling on that led me to this depression and anger. I hadn't dealt with anything. I hadn't made a choice to learn and grow. That is until recently.<br />
<br />
Since the revelation that I do have a say in what goes on in my life and my mind, I have been making a conscious effort to keep calm, to not continually think on things that make my heart hurt or angry, and to forgive then let things go. I have been doing much better at removing myself from situations that make me angry and not returning until I have dealt with my heart and am calm. Honestly, that process can take awhile, but it does happen. Not every time, but most.<br />
<br />
There is no way on this planet that could overcome this depression and anger without help from my Heavenly Father. I can do all things through Him (Philippians 4:13). I am an overcomer (1 John 5:4). I may be beaten down, but never destroyed (2 Corinthians 4:8-9).<br />
<br />
If you happen to be depressed or know someone who is struggling with it, please know there is hope in the midst of it. Even when there seems to be only darkness, there is hope.<br />

<b><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">About the book:</span></b><br />
<b><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></b>
<a href="http://g.christianbook.com/dg/product/cbd/w185/720430.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Love's Fortune, Ballantyne Legacy Series #3" border="0" src="http://g.christianbook.com/dg/product/cbd/w185/720430.jpg" height="320" width="206" /></a><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: white;">Sheltered since birth at her Kentucky home, Rowena Ballantyne has heard only whispered rumors of her grandfather Silas's vast fortune and grand manor in Pennsylvania. When her father receives a rare letter summoning him to New Hope, Rowena makes the journey with him and quickly finds herself in a whole new world--filled with family members she's never met, dances she's never learned, and a new side to the father she thought she knew. As she struggles to fit in during their extended stay, she finds a friend in James Sackett, the most valued steamship pilot of the Ballantynes' shipping line. Even with his help, Rowena feels she may never be comfortable in high society. Will she go her own way . . . to her peril?</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br style="background-color: white;" /><span style="background-color: white;">With her signature attention to historical detail, Laura Frantz brings 1850s Pennsylvania alive with a tender story of loss, love, and loyalty. Fans will cheer for this final installment of the Ballatyne saga.</span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: white;"><b>My Review:</b></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: white;"><b></b></span></span><br />
<a name='more'></a><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: white;"><b><br /></b></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I am a huge Laura Frantz fan. </span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Laura has a way with words that makes everything in the story's that she writes flow seamlessly</span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> together. Add her attention to details and wonderful characters, and you have perfection in my opinion.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">In <u>Love's Fortune</u>, we read about the entire Ballantyne family, but namely Wren, the granddaughter of Silas and Eden whom we met in book one. Not only was Wren uprooted from her Kentucky home, where life was simple and she was free, then moved to Pennsylvania, but now she is also expected to act the part of high society belle. Sweet Wren is not a fan of all the rules that come along with this role. She desperately wants to be back home in Kentucky where she can be herself, and make fiddles in her father's shop.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">James Sackett has been a friend of the Ballantyne family since childhood, and happened to be the pilot bringing Wren and her father upriver to Pennsylvania. He had no idea Silas had another granddaughter until that day. From the moment she stepped into pilothouse of the steamboat, which was against the rules, James was hard-pressed to keep his mind on his work. And he had a lot going on at the moment, what with the secretive transporting of slaves to free states, being hunted down by pro-slavery bounty hunters, and the Ballantyne business to boot. Little did he know what was yet to come.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I very much enjoyed the story of Wren and James. How they met, were placed together for her debut, and came together in the end. I can't point out a theme for this book except that family is a strong thing when they stick together. I really think this series could just keep on going, and I would happy with that. But alas, it has come to an end. And a good one at that.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I was so excited for the third book in the Ballantyne series to come out because I absolutely loved the first two. </span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Book one,<a href="http://dailyseekinghispresence.blogspot.com/2013/03/loves-reckoning.html" target="_blank"> </a></span><u style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><a href="http://dailyseekinghispresence.blogspot.com/2013/03/loves-reckoning.html" target="_blank">Love's Reckoning</a></u><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">, was a very dramatic novel that I have read a few times now. Book two, </span><u style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Love's Awakening</u><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">, was a bit lighter but quite enjoyable. I found book three, </span><u style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Love's Fortune</u><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">, a bit weak as far as the story line goes. I guess I am used to Laura's books being pretty dramatic and full of trouble. I didn't feel this book had much either. It was smooth and pleasant with times things could have gone from bad to ugly, but they didn't. The trouble just seemed to wash away.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Did I enjoy this book? Yes! Would I recommend it? Yes! It was written in a way that it is not necessary to read the first two. However, I recommend reading those as well because they are fantastic.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="line-height: 19.600000381469727px;">I believe that while this is a fun story the author, Karen Witemeyer, had something deeper to say. We can all try and try and try to get things accomplished by going about it our way, and in our own strength; to make sure we become who we want to be. Yet maybe that isn't God's plan for us. We need to have the strength and courage to let go of how we think things should go and what we should do, and let God mold us into who He needs us to be so we can accomplish what He needs us to do. I enjoyed going on the journey with the main characters in <u>Full Steam Ahead</u> as they came to find out that is exactly what they needed to do. Let go, and let God take control. </span></span></span><br />

<img align="right" height="375" hspace="10" src="http://karenwitemeyer.com/images/bio_pic.jpg" width="250" />Karen Witemeyer is a confirmed bookaholic who believes the world needs more happily-ever-afters. To that end, she combines her love of bygone eras with her passion for helping women mature in Christ to craft historical romance novels that lift the spirit and nurture the soul.</div>
<div style="color: #473225; font-family: 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.200000762939453px;">
After growing up in California, Karen moved to Texas to attend Abilene Christian University where she earned bachelor and master's degrees in Psychology. It was also there that she met and married her own Texas hero. He roped her in good, for she has lived in Texas ever since. In fact, she fell so in love with this rugged land of sweeping sunsets and enduring pioneer spirit, that she incorporates it into the pages of her novels, setting her stories in the small towns of a state that burgeoned into greatness in the mid- to late1800s.</div>
<div style="color: #473225; font-family: 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.200000762939453px;">
Karen is living her dream by writing Christian historical romance novels for Bethany House. Her books have consistently hit bestseller lists and have garnered awards such as the ACFW Carol Award, the Holt Medallion, and the Christian Manifesto's Lime Award for Excellence in Fiction. In addition, she is a multiple RITA and National Reader's Choice finalist. Karen is also a sought-after speaker for national writing conferences and regional workshops.</div>

<a name='more'></a><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span style="color: #333333;"><span style="line-height: 19.600000381469727px;">Do you find yourself desiring to be more established in prayer? I sure did. Even though I knew my prayers didn't need to be long and perfect, and that God knew my heart on every matter, I still wanted to have more knowledge on the subject. I wanted to make sure my prayers were in fact reaching God and were as effective as possible. Who better to learn from then Stormie Omartian?!</span></span></span><br />
<div style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em; padding: 0px;">
<span style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; line-height: 19.600000381469727px;">She starts out the book by stating that there is in fact a war going on in the spiritual realm and we are smack in the middle of it. Always. However, it's our choice to step up and battle or let the enemy have his way. She makes it clear who our enemy is and who our commander is. She teaches us where the power and authority in our prayers come from. </span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em; padding: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span style="color: #333333;"><span style="line-height: 19.600000381469727px;">Once we know in our hearts just Who is in charge and have made the choice to be a warrior, Stormie helps us to condition ourselves to be the prayer warrior God called us to be. After we "clean house" we are ready to put on the Full Armor of God, learn what our spiritual weapons, are and how to use them effectively.</span></span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em; padding: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span style="color: #333333;"><span style="line-height: 19.600000381469727px;">Knowing where most battles start and how the enemy infiltrates these areas is a key factor in winning this war. It is equally important to obey your Commander. When He tells us to do something it is imperative that we do it right when He says to. Timing is everything. </span></span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em; padding: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span style="color: #333333;"><span style="line-height: 19.600000381469727px;">While the entire book was beyond helpful to me I really loved the last chapter where she tells us the importance of seeing from God's perspective. I honestly have never really gave this much thought. I was convicted and repented for never asking Him to show me what He sees. I am certain that I will now have greater insight in my prayer times because Stormie took the time to share this with us.</span></span></span></div>

<br />
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
</div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">My husband and I don't get a lot of time to talk with each other, more less go out on a date. He works the grave-yard shift and I'm busy teaching our children, running them back and forth to classes, sports practices, cooking, cleaning, etc. Needles to say we get about an hour of family time each day. So at the beginning of January I decided to "tell" him all the things I want him to know that I'm unable to share with him verbally. Here is what I've been doing.</span></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Each day before the kids and I head out, I grab a whiteboard pen and write my husband a note on our bathroom mirror. This way, when he gets home from his long exhausting day of work he receives a Pick-Me-Up. I tell him how he is a great provider, a fantastic role model for our kids, a light in my dark days. I tell him what I love about his physical appearance, how his outer strength matches that of inner strength, that I appreciate what help he can offer me during the day. Anything and everything! </span></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Something that surprised me while doing this for a couple of weeks was when he told me he was ready for a date night. I'm pretty sure my mouth dropped open and hung there for a few minutes. I can't recall the last time I heard him say that. It was truly a great surprise! Then just yesterday he came to me, gave me a big hug and said he needed to tell me something. This time my heart started racing because his tone of voice was one he uses when I'm about to be told I did something wrong. So I looked up at him, nervous of what I was about to hear. </span></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">"I need to tell you that I love coming home to your sweet notes every day. The first one was the best surprise, and the next one was great. On my way home from work now I start to wonder what you've written that day. I look forward to reading the notes. Honestly, when I don't get a new one on the weekends I'm disappointed. I know you can't carry this on for ever, but I wanted to let you know that it's really giving me a boost in every area of my life. Thank you."</span></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Hello! The very reason I've been writing him notes is to give him the mental boost he needs. Studies have shown that men crave and desperately need to have their wives not just show, but TELL them they are appreciated and needed. Here is a quick article from <a href="http://www.focusonthefamily.com/marriage/daily_living/blessing-your-spouse/attaching-high-value-to-a-spouse.aspx" target="_blank">Focus on the Family</a> that talks about speaking words of praise to your spouse. My husband has told me in earlier years that he didn't know if he was doing enough for us or if I appreciated him. I make it a point to let him know the things I love about him because he needs to know and should know.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>My Review:</b></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b><br /></b></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I cannot figure out why I have never read a book like this one before. It was fantastic! I hardly ever read the back of books because I like to be surprised with the story as I'm reading it. Again, I did not read about this book but wanted it because I love Karen Witemeyer's stories. The book as a whole was wonderful! The whole book was filled with a fantastic surprise as your read from one story to the next, and has the best ending following along with the surprise.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Karen kicks of the book at full speed where we read of Neill Archer on his quest to be seen as a man and no longer as boy in the eye of others, especially in the eyes of his brothers. The story is quick and to the point, however there are no loose ends. The characters were vivid and the plot well thought out. The romance was very believable to me, and I just loved the whole thing!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Regina did an awesome job with her characters, and had me enthralled in the story from the first page. The plot was wonderful as we learn of Grace and how her life is changing sooner then expected, only to have a cowboy be the one to help her see just how capable she actually is. (This will make sense once you read it. I don't want to spoil it for you.)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Carol's short story was a bit exciting. There was lots of mystery and trouble afoot that I found to be a lot of fun. Aunt Martha was a feisty lady you don't want to mess with; she really brought the story to life. However, the romantic part between Lucy and Andrew just didn't work in my opinion. For this reason alone, the third story was my least favorite.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Mary wrapped up the book perfectly! Her characters were well rounded and had me giggling at their antics. Mary's stories are always fun. I was cracking up when Hanna and Mark were caught locked in her room. I still don't know who rigged that up, but I'm sure one of the ladies did. From then on Hanna's life, and Mark's for that matter, were forever changed.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I loved reading four different writing styles in one book, but my favorite thing overall was how all the characters were relying on God, their Heavenly Father, to take care of them through their less then stellar situations. It gives me that same sense of hope and certainty that God will come through for me as well when I come to Him for help. He can always be trusted and counted on.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Grab this super delightful book! It's one you'll probably read more then once, and give you a mood boost if you need one. </span></div>

<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<img height="400" src="http://static5.quoteswave.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Sometimes-I-feel-like-Im-waiting-for-something.jpg" width="400" /></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I know plenty of young folks who feel this way. The person they will spend forever with is nowhere to be found, and they'er growing weary in the waiting. I was just asked this question: </span></div>
<br />
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: blue; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">"I<span style="background-color: white; line-height: 17px; text-align: left; white-space: pre-wrap;">n your opinion is it foolish to hold out hope that one day he will want to get back together?"</span></span></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: blue; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 17px; text-align: left; white-space: pre-wrap;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 17px; white-space: pre-wrap;">Here was my response:</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: lucida grande, tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"><span style="line-height: 17px; white-space: pre-wrap;"><a name='more'></a><br /></span></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">"Thats a hard question. I keep telling young ladies that if they will just Seek God First <i>( Mat 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.)</i> and make Him number one in their life, He will become the author and perfecter of their love story.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Its something people don't want to wait for any more. We all want it now, but now may not be His perfect timing. God is never early and He is never late. But He lets us choose who's time frame we want: His or ours.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">However, I truly believe that there would be more happy couples if they just chose to seek Him first, praying that He would lead the way, preparing their yet-to-be-seen spouse by making sure they are solid in Him. The daughter of a British general, she barely saves her life by fleeing London aboard a ship to America. Her goal is to find refuge with the Lane family in Maryland, having been told by her father she could implicitly trust Winter and Bennet Lane, even though their nations are once again at war. After meeting their son, Thad, she wonders how safe she truly is when she discovers that the Lanes trade in a dangerous commodity--espionage.</span></div>

With family playing the part of enemies and enemies proving themselves friends, a future with Gwyn is uncertain. But at this moment, with the British advancing on Washington and Baltimore, they have only their shared faith in God as a shield about them.</span></div>

<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>My Review:</b></span><br />
<a name='more'></a><span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">A great sequel to <u><i><a href="http://dailyseekinghispresence.blogspot.com/2013/04/ring-of-secrets-book-review.html">Ring of Secrets</a></i></u>. Author Roseanna White did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life, painting a clear picture of their surroundings, and packed the story with mystery, trouble, and romance.</span><br />
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The first chapter had me tuning out the rest of the world. Captivated and shocked, I could not put the book down. Following Gwyneth from one continent to another while she is plagued by haunting dreams, finding she is being entrusted to a handsome fellow she did not even know, not to mention the fact these two continents were at war, created a fascinating and memorable story. </span><br />
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I loved that the original characters from <a href="http://dailyseekinghispresence.blogspot.com/2013/04/ring-of-secrets-book-review.html"><u><i>Ring of Secrets</i></u> </a>were in <u><i>Whispers From the Shadows</i></u>. I was immediately able to recall Winter and Bennet's story, who also happen to be Thad's parents. You can read more about their story <a href="http://dailyseekinghispresence.blogspot.com/2013/04/ring-of-secrets-book-review.html">here</a>. I don't think you will have a problem getting through book two without reading book one first. Even though there are characters from book one, I don't feel you would be confused or lost on what is going on in this story. That said, I do recommend reading the first book because it, too, was a great story.</span><br />
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Who do you place your trust in?</span><span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> In people? The government? The news? These things are sure to let you down at some point. However, if you place your trust in God like they learned to do in this story, you can be confident that He will always come through, and gain peace in your heart through this revelation. </span><span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">This is what I took away from the story. Make sure you are trusting in the One who you can always count on. The One who never leaves your side. The very One who created you and knows what you need before you even ask. Jesus is always there, ready and waiting.</span><br />

<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Well we did it. We are finally done moving! Now I can focus on unpacking, teaching my kids, hearing from the Holy Spirit, studying the Bible, and book reviews. We traded the crowded neighborhood for a peaceful plot in the woods. Traded the life in town for a bit of a drive, but the distance from everything is worth the peace and quiet among tall evergreens.<br /><br />God has truly worked in our favor with this house. I was so upset because we are going to get snow, it doesn't have a garage, there is no space for our school desks, no place for friends to park...boo hoo boo hoo. But you know what, as I stopped and looked around, started moving all our stuff in, I noticed that yes, we are going to be getting a lot of snow but we home school. I don't have to leave the house. We actually do have a good sized space for our school area. No we don't have a garage, but we do have some dry storage area under the house. All the bedrooms are lager, the kitchen is larger, the living room is larger. Why was I so upset? Because the house I was sure God had prepared for us was not going to look like this one. When I thought it didn't meet any of my requirements for our new home, the Holy Spirit gave me time to see through His eyes. Our new home actually meets all my requirements, I just was too full of my flesh to see what the Lord had provided. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Is there something you are unhappy about? Something you think the Lord has forgotten about? Something He answered in a way you were hoping would have been different? Be of good cheer! Ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to see what He sees. To open your heart to Him and all that He has for you. It may not be easy, it may not come quickly, but He is faithful if you are willing.</span><br />

<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: white;"> From the Acclaimed Author of Chronicles of the Kings</span><br style="background-color: white;" /><br style="background-color: white;" /><span style="background-color: white;">After decades of exile, the prophesies are coming true---King Cyrus has declared the Jews may return to Jerusalem. Iddo, a priest, is sure this is a sign of God's renewed favor. For too long they've remained in Babylon, and many, including Iddo's sons, are losing the faith that sets them apart. And so only a few choose to leave everything to return---return to their home and their God.</span><br style="background-color: white;" /><br style="background-color: white;" /><span style="background-color: white;">Nothing about their journey to the Promised Land is easy. As hardships mount, even the faithful, like Iddo's beloved wife, Dinah, question the sacrifice of following God's leading. Zechariah, Iddo's oldest grandson, feels torn between his grandfather's ancient beliefs and the family they left behind. But one life-changing encounter with the Holy One gives him insight that will change Zechariah---and history---forever.</span><br style="background-color: white;" /><br style="background-color: white;" /><span style="background-color: white;">Bringing the Old Testament to vibrant life, </span><em style="background-color: white;">Return to Me </em><span style="background-color: white;">tells the compelling story of two men living by faith in the midst of doubt, the women who love them, and the faithful remnant struggling to rebuild their lives in obedience to the God who beckons them home.</span></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: white;"></span></span><br />
<a name='more'></a><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: white;">Wow! I have never read a book like this one before. Based on a story in the Bible, author Lynn Austin does a seriously amazing job bringing it to life. The reader feels each heartache, rejoices with the characters in times of joy, and gets so into the story that it's hard to put down.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: white;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: white;">It was really interesting to hear of the Babylonian ways: the sorcery they placed their hope in along with their pagan gods, and how many of the Hebrew people fell into these ways as well. We have the same sort of pressures today to follow the crowd and do what everyone else is doing. I loved seeing the strength of Iddo in this area. No matter what, he was going to follow God.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: white;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: white;">The characters are vividly described and easy to follow through the story. I noticed that each chapter focused on a certain character, what they are thinking and going through, throughout the book. This made the book that much more interesting.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: white;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Please take a look at this book. It is a story you will never forget!</span><br />

<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #741b47; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span></div>
<a name='more'></a><span style="color: #741b47; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">A friend of mine lent me a book she loved titled <i>What Happens When Women Say Yes to God. </i>As I was reading the book the Holy Spirit touched my heart in a way that I cannot explain. All I know is I was meant to read that book at exactly that time. While looking at Harvest House Publishers website I spotted this book and thought, "This will make a perfect addition while I read the original book."</span><br />
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #741b47; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #741b47; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I ended up finishing the original book before I received the <i>Devotional, </i>but it turns out that it worked great this way. I have loved reading the Devotional each morning, and I love that I can go over the table of contents and choose one that will meet me where I'm at that day. I look forward to the scripture at the beginning, her short and to the point story, followed by a simple prayer and reflection each day. </span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #741b47; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #741b47; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">You will love <i>What Happens When Women Say Yes to God Devotional</i>! Everything author Lysa TerKeurst has to say is something we can all surly relate to. As she tells of what happened in her life and how she overcame the situation it helps you realize that you too can make it through and be a YES woman. </span><br />
<span style="color: #741b47; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #741b47; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">So, if you are a busy busy lady or know someone who is, I highly recommend this devotional. Not only will it encourage you daily and give your spirit something to recall when the time comes, but it will allow you to get moving just minutes after you have picked it up.</span><br />

Unfortunately, though adept at solving puzzles and cryptograms, she doesn't realize her new fiance isn't who he claims to be, but instead is a charming scoundrel. The infamous Will Tucker is presenting himself as a British gentleman, Sir William Trueck, though in reality he is a crafty criminal looking for a hidden map to a secret treasure.</span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">

At last Kyle believes he has Tucker cornered, but he is uncertain whether the lovely woman on the con man's arm is an unsuspecting victim or willing accomplice. Finding reasons to spend time with Millie is easy. Keeping himself from falling in love with her is another issue entirely.</span></div>

<b style="color: #073763; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">My Thoughts:</b></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span></div>
<a name='more'></a><span style="color: #073763; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I am loving author Kathleen Y'Barbo's series on The Secret Lives of Will Tucker.<u><i> Millie's Treasure</i></u> was a great follow up to the first book in the series, <u><i>Flora's Wish</i></u>. You can find my review of of the first book <a href="http://dailyseekinghispresence.blogspot.com/2013/03/floras-wish-book-review.html" target="_blank">HERE.</a> If you haven't read the first book, I don't think you would have any trouble starting off with this one (a</span><span style="color: #073763; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">lthough I would have you know that </span><i style="color: #073763; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><u>Flora's Wish</u></i><span style="color: #073763; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> was wonderful)</span><span style="color: #073763; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">. It does mention people in the first book but not in a way that would leave you lost and confused. </span><br />
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">While reading <i><u>Millie's Treasure</u></i> I actually laughed at myself because I forgot who the book is really about. I expected that Will was going to be the main character, but there really wasn't much of him in this book which surprised me since it is supposed to be about him. </span><span style="color: #073763; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I was halfway through when it dawned on me who Sir William was. </span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I enjoyed the tale of Millie and Pinkerton agent Kyle Russell. With romance with many puzzles to solve and a great sense of hope attached to the answers of these puzzles, the story quickly became an "up all night reading" book for me. I loved reading about Kyle's inventions and Millie's many questions on the subject, all the while trying to figure out just how and if they were going to catch the infamous Will Tucker.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The book held lots of surprises throughout the story and had great dialog between the characters. Some of whom have you laughing while others leave you hoping that God's best will come out of the mess they managed to created. </span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Through this story I believe author Kathleen Y'Barbo wanted to point out that even though there may seem to be no light at the end of the tunnel and no truth to be had, if you will place your trust in God He is faithful to bring clarity to all that is in the dark. </span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">

<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="color: #3d85c6; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="color: #3d85c6; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="color: #3d85c6; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">My family is looking to buy our first home. We found one that has everything on our checklist but it is $50,000 more then what we are comfortable paying. So we continued looking, found a house with one thing on our checklist but in the right price range, and placed an offer. (I'm sure a post will be coming soon on this story.)</span></span><br />
<span style="color: #3d85c6;"><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Now, this has all happened within this past week. I haven't slept for days because I'm so concerned about the offer on the house we don't really want and the home we want but cannot afford. I feel mentally, emotionally, and physically exhausted.</span></span></span><br />
<span style="color: #3d85c6;"><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span></span></span><br />
<a name='more'></a><span style="color: #3d85c6;"><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Then the Lord spoke to me two nights ago, "I have heard your requests. Stop asking and start thanking Me for what I Am doing on your behalf." (You can find that post <a href="http://dailyseekinghispresence.blogspot.com/2013/08/faith-believing-and-thanksgiving.html" target="_blank">HERE.</a>) So I went downstairs and gave it all to Him and spent hours thanking and praising Him. What a relief to hand off something I have no control over to the only One who can change the situation. </span></span></span><br />
<span style="color: #3d85c6;"><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Last night I thought of the verse below, and with it came new understanding:</span></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" id="table_bible" style="width: 100%px;"><tbody>
<tr id="Mat_11_28_940028"><td class="vRefb" style="background-color: whitesmoke; border-color: rgb(221, 221, 221); border-style: solid; border-width: 1px 0px 0px; font-weight: bold; padding: 5px; vertical-align: top; white-space: nowrap; width: 70px;"><span class="nowrap;"><a href="http://www.blueletterbible.org/Bible.cfm?b=Mat&c=11&t=NKJV#28" style="text-decoration: none;"><span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>Mat 11:28</b></span></a></span></td><td class="vDispb" style="background-color: whitesmoke; border-color: rgb(221, 221, 221); border-style: solid; border-width: 1px 0px 0px; padding: 5px; vertical-align: top;"><span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b> "Come to Me, all [<span class="criteria">you</span>] who labor and are heavy laden, and <span class="criteria">I</span> <span class="criteria">will </span><span class="criteria">give</span> <span class="criteria">you</span> <span class="criteria">rest</span>.</b></span></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #454545;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #3d85c6; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">It's when we totally rely on Him, when our faith is in Him and not in us, do we fully understand what it means to have rest-peace. We are at peace and can rest because we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that He is in control. He is taking care of it. We no longer need to worry, think of it, or even speak of it. We completely handed it over to Him and can now rest because He said He's got taken care of. He just needed us to give it fully to Him.</span><br />
<span style="color: #3d85c6;"><span style="background-color: white; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Wow! What a great promise from Jesus! I have read this verse so many times but only last night did it come alive to me. For the first time in a week I was able to sleep. Hallelujah!!! In Him we can find rest. I understand this now and will never forget it. </span></span><br />
<span style="color: #3d85c6;"><span style="background-color: white; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Be encouraged today! If you have something weighing you down mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually, hand it over to Jesus. He has you covered!</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #454545; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #454545; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>

<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">When is the last time you sat down and really poured out your heart in thanks to God? </span><br />
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I have no doubt that my husband loves me and cares for me. I don't need him to tell me these things but I really do like to hear him say this and show me. It is the same for our Heavenly Father. He knows how we feel and what we are thinking before we even think it. (Scripture) But even so, He loves to hear it from us. He loves to hear our thanks and praise, our needs and desires, and of our love for Him. </span><br />

Last night God told me he heard my requests and then told me to start thanking Him for what He is doing. Please join me in thanking Him-our great and might God, author and perfecter of all, our everlasting God who's love never fails or ends-for the blessings He is about to release into our lives. I have no doubt that my husband will receive a brand new garbage truck and I have no doubt that the home God has for us is near. He has heard my cries and is now answering them!!! Glory to God! All will see how great is our God! There will be no denying that these blessing are from Him. Only He can make it happen! Be encouraged today!!!! God hears us and loves us more then we will ever be able to comprehend! He wants our joy to be made full!</span></div>

<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">When I was younger I remember looking for out of state licence plates and seeing just how many I could find here in sunny California. Well now I have challenged my kids. They have actually had such a blast looking for new plates while we drive around running errands. They have spotted quite a few, most of them being from the East Coast! We even found a Baja California plate!</span><br />
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Here is a picture of their map which I downloaded from <a href="http://www.mrprintables.com/printable-map-of-the-united-states.html" target="_blank">Mr Printables</a>:</span><br />

<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">(Sorry for the poor quality. I'm working on that.)</span><br />
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I love how they get excited when they see a new plate and tell me to drive faster so they can read it. (Don't worry, I do not do as they say!) This has been a lot of fun for us and I figure it will carry on well after summer vacation. This works great for keeping the kids out of each others hair.</span><br />

I'll make this short and sweet.</span><br />
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<a name='more'></a><span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: magenta; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Step #1</span><span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">- </span><span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Sit down and make a list of everything you do during the week. Figure how long it takes you to complete each task.</span><span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> Now, your reading my tips on how to free up time in your day so this one may be hard to get to. But I promise it really helps actually being able to see it all on paper. You will probably be amazed to see just how much you do during the week.</span><br />
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: magenta; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Step #2</span><span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">- </span><span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Put a check mark next to the tasks you feel can be scheduled at a different time if not removed altogether.</span><span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> I used to spend so much time each day researching health and things for school that I wasn't spending the quality time with the Lord that I wanted to, and was missing out on time with my kids as well. I had to make a change.</span><br />
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: magenta; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Step #3</span><span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">- </span><span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Schedule your "time suckers" into a place in your day that will work for you WITH a time limit. </span><span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Seriously, if I don't have a time limit I will be sitting at the computer researching, reading books, or whatever it is I'm doing for hours at a time. Which means nothing else is getting done. For me, time limits are a must.</span><br />
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: magenta; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Step #4</span><span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">- </span><span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Give it a whirl! See if doing this adds dome balance to your days and frees up time for the other things in your life.</span><span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> Doing these simple steps worked wonders for me personally in managing my day and freeing up more time for me to spend with the ones I love. Its all about planning your time to bring balance to your day!</span><br />

<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Over the past ten years of our marriage I have come to learn quite a few things: how to pick my battles, the best time of day to bring up a touchy subject, and to never point out the flaws in his driving. But what I want to cover today is how to make your spouse feel like everything they went through that day was appreciated by you and your kids. </span><br />
<div>
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">In our family my husband works outside of our home to support his family while I stay home to raise our kids, teach them, and care for our home. I know many families where the wife works and the husband stays home. Either way these tips are sure to help you make your spouse's day.</span></div>

<div>
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: magenta; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Tip #2</span><span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">- </span><span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Have dinner ready if your spouse gets home in the evening. If they work the graveyard shift, have breakfast or lunch ready for them.</span><span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> My husband seems to love walking in to the sweet aroma of a home cooked meal.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: magenta; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Tip #3</span><span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">- </span><span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">If at all possible, shoo the kids outside so the house offers a relaxing environment.</span><span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> When I hear my husband pull up-and my kids now know this very well-I tell my kids to calmly and politely answer Daddy's questions about our day. However, they are to refrain from bombarding him with, "Dad, lets go ride bikes. Dad lets go build something. Dad, Dad, Dad!" We need to give him time to relax first, then we can see if he is up to doing something else.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: magenta; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Tip #4</span><span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">- </span><span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Don't be the one to unleash everything that went wrong in your day. Save that for later in the evening. </span><span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I will never forget the day my husband came home from work and told me what all the guys where talking about in the locker room. All the men were complaining that as soon as they walked in the door their wives started going off about how horrible her day had gone along with this, that, and the other. They said they just wanted to go home and be able to relax. My husband thanked me that day and nearly each day since then for making our home a place he looked forward to coming to.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">It is the greatest feeling when my husband tells me how much he appreciates all the hard work I do at home, and how great it makes him feel. He says it makes him feel like a king. By making sure I complete these four steps every day (okay so I don't get these done<b> every</b> day) I am showing my husband I love him and am grateful for all his hard work. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">What are some things you do to make your spouse's day? I'd love to hear!</span></div>

<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Wow! I cannot believe that there is only one month of summer vacation</span><span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> left. </span><span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Seriously, where did the time go? The office stores in town are already offering Back to School sales which I, of course, am making the most of. </span><br />
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Back to school shopping is my favorite. I love searching for the deals and hunting them down in the stores. The one thing I have a hard time with is <b>only</b> getting what I need. I mean, when its such a great deal, why not stock up right? Yea, I do tend to go crazy on school supplies with all of these amazing sales. We are going to be fully stocked and ready to roll by the end of the month.</span><br />
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<a name='more'></a><span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">How about you? Do you like school shopping, or do you dread it?</span><br />
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Don't mind me...I'm just going to go and search the web for the deals coming up this weekend.</span>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04825427593645202708noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2528711248769012522.post-57554157089693646162013-07-11T09:50:00.000-07:002015-02-27T07:54:25.685-08:00Open Heaven--book review<div style="text-align: center;">

I had to sit there and think. And think. The question was this: </span><br />
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Are there some things in your life God may not expect or want you to be doing?</span><br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I started to wonder if I was so busy with "this or that" that it was hindering my daily walk with God. Slowly, as I picked apart my days I started to notice that I was giving all of my spare time to schoolwork, chores, my constant study on health, and book reviews. I had a problem.</span><br />
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I decided I had to come up with a plan on how to cut back and make more time for the Lord. </span><br />
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.press8.com/images/time%20management.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.press8.com/images/time%20management.jpg" height="269" width="320" /></a></div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">At one point I was reviewing books for five different publishers. That was an overload. Since then I have cut back to now only reviewing books for Harvest House Publishers and the occasional</span><span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> blog tours by Litfuse Publicity Group. This has freed up a large amount of my spare time.</span><br />
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I have also tried to only research health one to two days a week with a time limit. That's right. I had to give myself a time limit on my research! If I don't set these guidelines for myself I end up giving all my free time to only one thing.</span><br />
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Schoolwork- just thinking of it weighs me down. Don't get me wrong I love teaching my kids, but sometimes its a bit overwhelming. My way of <b>not</b> giving all my time to correcting papers late into the evening </span><span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">was such an easy fix: I correct it as soon as the paper is handed to me. This frees up my time in the evening for some enjoyable review reading, time with the Lord in worship, or even Bible study time.</span><br />
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Now I ask you the question: </span><span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Are there some things in your life God may not expect or want you to be doing?</span><br />
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Ask the Holy Spirit to search every area of your life, and point out which ones need tweaking. He is sure to be faithful and help you in this quest.</span><br />
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>

<span style="color: #3d85c6;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Drawing on her years of being a daughter and a mother, the wisdom of God's Word, and practical insights from other women on the same journey, Annie Chapman encourages mothers to share 10 essential truths that will help their daughters lay a strong foundation for success, including how to</span></span><br />
<ul style="background-color: white;">
<li><span style="color: #3d85c6; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">draw on faith in Jesus for wisdom and strength</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #3d85c6; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">use choice to transform circumstances</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #3d85c6; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">cultivate inner and outer beauty</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #3d85c6; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">understand and celebrate the differences between men and women</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #3d85c6; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">prepare for and establish successful relationships, including marriage</span></li>
</ul>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #3d85c6; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Highlighting the traits of women in the Bible, Annie provides practical guidance for helping young women develop discernment, trust, and integrity. She candidly shares her own experiences to help today's mothers navigate the sometimes tricky, yet always fulfilling role of "Mom."</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #3d85c6; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #3d85c6; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>My Review:</b></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #3d85c6;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b></b></span><br />
</span><br />
<a name='more'></a><span style="color: #3d85c6; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b><br /></b></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #3d85c6; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">As a mother of a preteen daughter, I am acutely aware of how quickly she is growing up, and of all the things she is going to need to know. I am on a mission to gain as much knowledge as I can to better equip my daughter for life and all that it holds. This is one book of many that I have chosen to gather this knowledge.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #3d85c6; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #3d85c6; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">First thing I noticed and really loved about this book is that author Annie Chapman has a very large amount of scriptures to back up what she is talking about. So many times my kids will ask why they must do it this way in which I reply, "Because the Bible tells us so." I love that I now have most of these scriptures at hand to better answer their questions.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #3d85c6; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #3d85c6; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The ten topics in the book cover everything from making the best choices to keeping a pure heart and body. From marriage and motherhood to money and fear. In each chapter author Annie Chapman offers guidelines to follow during life and has backed them with multiple scriptures. She shares her life stories along with lyrics from old hymns and songs that she and her husband wrote that tie in perfectly with the theme of the chapter. At the end there is a page with a book list she wants her daughter to read. And yes, I will be going over that list as well with my daughter.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #3d85c6; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #3d85c6;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I found all the information in <i style="text-decoration: underline;">10 Ways to Prepare Your Daughter for Life</i> very </span><span style="background-color: transparent;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">practical, all the while very helpful. I had this thought often while reading, "Of course. That make perfect sense." I am so glad I chose this book as it is going to be a great resource for my daughter and I.</span></span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="background-color: transparent;"><span style="color: #3d85c6; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="background-color: transparent;"><span style="color: #3d85c6; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">If you are like me and in the market for books to help you help your daughter, I would like to recommend this book to you. I know it will bless you!</span></span></div>
