Freedom Fighter Book Review
Freedom Fighter
One Man’s
Fight for One Free World
By Majed El Shafie
About
the book:
From Muslim to Christian activist! Explore the
inspirational story of Majed El Shafie. After converting to Christianity, he
was arrested, tortured, and sentenced to death. Escaping to Canada, he formed
the human rights organization One Free World International. Follow him back to
the Near East as he attempts to end the persecution of believers.
It’s time to fight back!
This is the true story of one man’s continuing fight for a world
free of religious persecution.
Majed El Shafie was arrested, tortured, and sentenced to die after
he converted from Islam to Christianity. His dramatic story, and those of
others worldwide who are suffering persecution, are told in shocking, yet
sensitive detail. Especially startling is the true story of rescuing a very
young Pakistani girl who experienced horrific sexual abuse—because her family
would not convert to Islam.
Although hard to imagine and even harder to accept, this important
truth about religious persecution is blatantly exposed. Millions of families
are praying for help. They are suffering daily in China, Iran, Iraq, Egypt, and
many other countries—solely because of their beliefs.
Freedom Fighter is Reverend El Shafie’s
outreach—it follows his heroic work over a four-year period as he traveled to
Pakistan and Afghanistan to investigate claims of abuse, persecution, and
slavery and to speak truth to governments that neglect and violate the human
rights of their citizens.
This fight involves all believers—please help.
This book is jam-packed with
information and first person encounters of life in the Middle-East. Author
Majed El Shafie has an amazing story along with the story of a 2 year old girl
who was abused and left for dead. This book had me in tears from the brutality
of fellow human beings and how they treat others based strictly on beliefs. As
you read through the grueling truth and statistics of major countries in the East
and how people are daily being persecuted and abused in multiple ways, I guarantee
you will be ready to fight for human rights alongside Majed El Shafie and One
Free World International. It makes me sick to hear of this unjustness, and why
we never hear of these things on the news.
One of the best things about the
book is the author gives us many ways to help; from sending letters to our
members of congress to speaking out publicly to dedicating five minutes a day
to prayer on behalf of all the families worldwide who are suffering. There are
things we can all do to take part in the effort of saving lives and fighting
for human rights!
Please read this book! It will
surely change the way you think about the world, and how we in free countries
might tend to take our freedom for granted.
