Tally Mark Countdown

Today we did some tally mark practice by counting down how many days we have left of school. Here is my daughters paper. 

She decided to draw a chart so she could color in the box for the day. We have 39 days left of school!  So excited! My 7 year old son is having a hard time getting his work done lately. Now that he knows he only has 39 days left he found a new surge of energy to do his best. How do you practice tally marks with your kids?
